MERSEY STORM WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB
Launched in 2010 as the Mersey Vikings wheelchair RL The Team reached another first, after taking park in their first competitive festival against fellow merit league clubs - Halifax, Bury and Wigan at the Robin Park Sports Centre on the 6th June.
The Wheelchair competition was part of a bigger rugby festival, with over 100 teams taking part in touch and tag games prior to the Super League game between Wigan Warriors and Castleford Tigers.
The team had a successful start with a win over Halifax with Inside Wing Declan Beddis scoring Mersey Vikings first ever competitive try in a 12-0 victory followed by two close losses to Wigan and Bury (12-6 and 10-4).
Training for the club is held on Thursday evenings from 5pm to 7pm at the Cronton Campus of Riverside College, Widnes
